My musical journey began in the mid-1970s during the disco era, when I first became interested in playing music. In 1982, just a year out of high school, I landed my first club job. I kept working through the ’80s and ’90s, building nightclub and radio careers that each lasted more than 25 years.In 1986, I walked through the doors of New York City’s legendary Palladium for the first time. It was a life-changing experience, and I went on to spend many happy nights there. I’m proud to say I was never turned away from the Palladium or the Limelight - memories I’ll carry with me always.Today, I host *Open House With Charlie Dix* and *The Last Tower* on Cambrian Radio, and *Progressive Heat* on YouTube. I’m still playing, still sharing the music I love, and hope to keep going for years to come.

Metro Beatz is a South Florida based DJ/Producer/Remixer/Engineer of House/Electronic, R&B & Hip Hop Music for Music Of Class Productions and MOCRadio Network. Metro Beatz also known as 'LC' orginally from Lawrence, Ma has a long history & career in music since the mid 80s starting with his first rap group 'The Fresh Express - Stop (Before You Get Started)' which was a local hit in Greensboro, NC then scored an underground rap hit in 1990 with his group 'Mind Over Matter - Invisible Enemy' Soon after, Metro Beatz would move to Atlanta in 1990 working with several upcoming R&B & Hip artist, working at records stores, spinning at clubs in Atlanta and spinning mixtapes eventually collaborating with Chris Brann from Wamdue Kids, he caught the bug for House music, relocated to South Florida spinning on Miami's number one station Hot 105, spinning celebrity parties and released his first solo House music project on Terrence Parker's 'Parker MusicWorks Label' in 2008. Currently Metro Beatz now releases fresh new House Music on his own imprint 'Music Of Class' through Symphonic Distribution. Remixing and engineering for various projects and still spinning music on the radio daily at MOCRadio.com

As of September 2019 producer of mixes, remixes and megamixes (called “Monsterjam” by DMC) for the British DJ only remix service DMC Ltd. UK. The banner you see above are a few of the full-album mixes I produced for DMC and were released on the DMC label. They’re all ‘Monsterjams’ as DMC calls the full-album megamixes they release.Unfortunately DMC went into a voluntary liquidation in March 2023, were taken over by a specially for that purpose founded company called Futureverse Ltd. but eventually dissolved in the beginning of this year 2025.

“Back to Back Sessions” is a project created by DJ Fabricio Lopes and DJ Kokinho where each set continues exactly from where the previous one ended. The idea is to transform mixing into an ongoing musical conversation: every week, one of the DJs takes over the next chapter within the same style, keeping the vibe, the energy, and the sonic identity flowing seamlessly. My introduction to deep house and all things free party couldn't have been better - 1994 and Smokescreen Sound system. As soon as I heard that first mix tape and knew I'd found what I'd been looking for musically at last! After going to club nights, parties and shindigs in secret locations for about 8 years I knew although I loved getting on down to that deep groove, that I wanted to participate by laying down the wax. So then in 2001/2 I embarked on an adventure with dual CD decks at first for a year - what an apprenticeship that was! Citronix decks with just 2 buttons per deck for cueing backwards and forwards - no jog wheel! What a nightmare! However, after actually getting that to work after a year, when I then bought my first pair of Technics 1200 Mk 2's, mixing was so much easier and came naturally after all the messing about pressing cue buttons! Next I had to find someone to let me play. That's where my dear friend Carl Kaotic and Wireless Soundsystem entered!
