In 2007, Paul began to produce regular monthly mixes and publish them on iTunes. He quickly became regarded as one of the top Funky House podcasters on iTunes where he was now able to broadcast to a global audience. His MP3s get over 20,000 downloads per week and this rapidly growing popularity has led him to host regular radio shows on the top House radio stations for his genre, SSRadio, Lifted Radio and HouseMusicPodcasts. Paul has also appeared as guest spots on Raunchy Rhythms and 1Radio. Funky Monkey met with electronic music in the late 80's with basic from C64 and soon also started with some easy productions. After getting new equipment in the mid 90's he also started to get contact into the electronic music. He started to produce private trance and progressive tracks in years 1997-2002. After this he got in contact with House Music (This was and still is his biggest love) and started to produce house tracks. Now he's spinning at closed private parties and making exclusive sets to the WWW for people and online Radio stations. DJ Limey is.. well.. he is ME. I've loved music for as long as I can remember, always prefering to have the radio on than the TV as a kid, it was always inevitable that growing up my life would someway be involved with music. That being said I did spend my teen years in the 1990's and fell in love with the electronic dance music scene. This is where I found my new passion for DJ'ing.. being able to blend together all the songs I loved so much into a continuous montage of amazing music.. yep sign me up! Having been lucky enough to migrate to the USA for 15 years I've played a variety of venues from small martini lounges to massive festivals and I've been a radio, internet and nightclub DJ.. I'm now living back in the UK and currently hold a residency @ Lockdown Events in Swansea, UK and a resident spot on Global Dance Radio. My mixing genres consist of House styles, such as, Electro-House, Funky-House and my new Fave Future House! Electro Breaks / Hip-Hop / Deep House / Techno Club MixesBiographyI originally come from the North East of England (Durham), but moved down to Plymouth in 2006. During the early 90's I got into the Northern rave scene and stayed there for a good five years (1991-96). During this period a number of my close friends ended up becoming relatively successful Rave DJs. Being surrounded by this obviously had an effect on me and I ended up getting involved. We ended up starting off our own rave club. Club Hysteria (Spennymoor). I’ve been mixing on and off ever since. Currently I am using Traktor Pro 2 with Traktor Kontrol S4. All of my music is MP3 based. I no longer use vinyl or CDJs as their bulk is a pain in the ass to lug around. With having two kids and a wife rules out having a studio room anyway. The S4 is perfect for my needs. I am currently heavily into Breaks / Electro House / Deep House. I still have fun with oldSkool sets from time to time.
