Originating from sunny Bournemouth town and loving every second of dj life down on the UK South Coast is XJ. A passionate and meticulous dj whose pin point precision mixing, together with sensational tune selection has his crowds up and glued to the dance floor. XJ applies his sharp and seamless style predominantly to Drum & Bass, House, Trance and Hard Dance, but also enjoys the challenge of dabbling in other genres. XJ has had music running through his veins since birth and began getting more closely involved with music at the age of 13 when he picked up the mic and tried his hand at being an mc. After a few years on the mic XJ had the urge to mix and started messing around on a few of his friends decks. He then became a family man at an early age so XJ took some time out from the music scene and in 2005, he finally acquired his own setup. After a couple of years playing his vinyl at every chance he could get, XJ was ready to play out in his home town. He got involved with some local events and played at several Bournemouth hot spots including The Old Fire Station, Empire, Dusk till Dawn and DNA. When XJ attended university in 2010 he met a few like-minded dance music enthusiasts and together they launched their first drum and bass event Fracture in Bournemouth at the club Dusk Till Dawn. After the success of this event XJ’s passion and drive grew and the rest is history. His monthly residency at SoHo has become a regular hot spot for the local, house hungry bar hoppers. In 2017 XJ toured around Ibiza for his debut on the clubbing island, supporting the Parasol Ibiza Tour in association with Darkest Before Dawn Records. In 2018 he took his skills and sound to Ayia Napa as a resident DJ for Ayia Napa House Party hosted by House Party Events, along with house legend Junior Jack and 48 other national and international djs. In 2019 XJ returned to Ayia Napa with House Party Events alongside his fellow residents and up and coming djs Craig Knight, Franky Wah and Hot like Detroit. Next up in June 2019 will be XJs first festival slot, Home Farm Fest in Somerset, followed by his next summer booking at the largest festival in Wales: Logic Festival. The next step for XJ is production so watch this space! About Us Bamboo Rider was born in the autumn of 2010 as a ride wear brand prepared to take responsibility for the impact their products have on the environment. Whether you ride in the ocean, in the mountains or in the urban landscape, whatever your preferred method of expression, protecting the environments we use every day is what we're all about. Our aims and goals are to design products replacing as many environmentally harmful materials as possible, with functional, eco-friendly alternatives, delivering performance, great design, durability, and style in a sustainable way, reducing environmental impact. Although every effort is made to remain completely green in our quest, at some point there has to be compromise and a balance has to be struck between ethics and functionality for our products and brand to succeed. We only select and source materials and products from factories using only renewable energy who are regulated and accredited by the Fair Wear foundation, Soil Association, the Carbon Trust and the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). We've carefully selected our printing methods to minimise the impact on the environment by using inks that take less time to cure so they spend less time in the ovens, saving electricity and making use of an in-built filter system to ensure no inks escape into the local environment. Bamboo Rider are passionate about championing unique talent from around the world, supporting riders, photographers, artists, musicians, designers and DJ’s. Raising their profile and bringing attention to their work. We currently have individuals representing the brand from the UK, France, Norway, Switzerland, Ibiza, Australia and New Zealand. We regularly sponsor music and sporting events throughout the UK and Europe. We have a dedicated and passionate social network following on both facebook and twitter, with our fan base spanning the UK, Europe, United States, South America and South East Asia. We work closely with Sports Associations in Scotland and France, such as Snow Sport Scotland and SC Meribel on their quest to develop the countries freshest new talent and regularly sponsor their Ski & Snowboard events. Our DJ’s regularly play parties in some of the top venues around. Headlining our own events and supporting acts including Roger Sanchez, The Dub Pistols, Ed Solo & The Skool of Thought, Darrison, Krafty Kuts, Skitz, A-Skillz , The Free Masons, Duke…the list is endless… Bamboo Rider doesn’t take it’s self as seriously as some others. El Schabat Started with vinyl ...100% vinyl of course ;-). after some mixing experience and fun fun fun I started doing this with midi-controllers sending messages programming days and night untill it worked and did what I want them to do! via allen & heath's xone 2d xone 1d and a xone 42 in between. Novations launchpad and its LED give visual feedback from traktor pro 2 status. I am happy to see the new allen &heath k2 in february 2012. have fun with the mixes and thx for your feedback 4/4 and never stop this! el schabat ( ... ? ... )
