Luke Cabrol- Hard Dance/Hardcore DJ and promoter of MNTHRD Productions. Luke Cabrol born Aldershot, Surrey, England 9/12/87. Currently living in Auckland New Zealand. Lukes passion for the harder styles of music started at the age of 16 when living in England, religiously following the UK Hardcore scene until moving to Auckland New Zealand. It wasnt long untill he found himself working at 'SPACE BAR' (then Aucklands main hard dance club). From here he decided to start 'MNTHRD Productions'. MNTHRD Productions have done events like MNTHRD, Still MNTHRD and the most recent event so far being 'Meow gets MNTHRD' with MARK EG. In 2010 Luke took his place behind the decks. Using his influence from the UK rave scene luke has brought a different style to the Auckland hard dance scene. His sets are full of the unexpected. Luke puts a lot of effort into technical mixes and is not afraid to take a risk in his sets experimenting with new sounds. Fell in love with dance music at a young age then discovered Durban's Super-Club 3-30 and HardHouse then later came Club Traxx on Cobham Grove, which ignited a deeper passion for Harder Dance and HardTrance. Durban Hard Dance Icon: Sam Boylan & Marc T being a major inspiration to his DJ'ing style. Living the evolution and rise of Trance music from the late 90's to modern day, it was inevitable for him to be a DJ. The source was 5FM and Derek the Bandit. Saturday nights became a regular sanctuary in warm up to Club Nights at 3-30, taping songs off the radio, little did he know that he was already technically DJ'ing and those would become priceless mixtapes. Since then his passion for the music grew and kept growing, learning about music and the basics and crafting his sound, he taught himself the art of mixing on pc, then progressed to CDJ's and later on, the basics of music production. Production arised when he found all his music boring and wanted to create his own take on HardDance/HardTrance/PSy-Trance Hybrids. A new sound was born, pushing the boundaries of South African Hard Dance. He plays various styles ranging from: Progressive-PSyTrance, Progressive/Uplifting Trance, Uplifting Hard-Trance/House/Bounce/NRG, FreeForm HardCore, Twilight/Night/Goa/Dark-PSyTrance, Capetown-Twilight-PSyTrance and Hi-Tech/PSy-Core. I started djing in 1982, my passion for music was very early, already at age 4 singing Italian songs .. I've always loved all kinds of music, especially soul and r & b. I play the acoustic piano, but my favorite musical instrument is the string section. Besides music my passions are philosophy, computer programming and analog electronics.

Been raving for years and years.... and years. Love me tunes, but never really got into the DJ side. Hard House / hard dance all the way.. do like bit of lighter stuff as well :-) Got some decks begining of December 2010, couldnt resist after busting some hours on my mates decks, once i managed to actually mix some tunes i was instantly addicted! Whenever i'm not on my xbox (or getting an ear bashing from the missus)... i'm playing on my decks!!

i started djing at 16 after months of begging the parents for months to buy me some 1210s,which i still use today going strong.my passion in music has to be old school piano,retro and vocal funky house if you cant sing to it then its no good lol.in the early nineties i started going clubbing,and for me to this day was the best for music.when i first got my 1210s i had no intension of djing in clubs it was just a hobby for and for my own enjoyment.i was actually tricked by a fellow dj and good friend who was already djing in clubs,when he phoned me up one thurday night and said he was ill and needed me to help him out and play at a bar for him,to which i found out later it was actually a dj competition to which he entered me and to my surprise i won to which the prize was residency at bradfords biggest dance club which pulled 700 to 800 in every friday and saturday night,my first night djing in the club was christmas eve which was packed out and i was shitting it,it was a big difference mixing some tracks in the bedroom and then to bid audience but i absolutely loved it and was hooked,and so my djing career was born. within the first year things went from strength to strength playing in numerous clubs all over yorkshire and holding down residencys and playing alongside some of the biggest names in the country (alister whitehead,k klass,paul taylor just to name a few) i was more known as a dj for my old school sets and so i was made a resident for retro which took me to ibiza djing at eden and loved every minute. in the mid 2000s i began working with a fellow dj (adam g) at a place called bar me which was just a bar not a club,but in the first 6 months playing there the profits soared 700% and went from a free bar and having to pay in on the door,so we sat down and thought were on to a winner here and decided to brand our own night and event,and so worship was born. our brand of night went from strength to strength holding down rooms at space,gatecrasher,visage and ethios,garlands and many more,we even ended up with our own radio show on a friday night on dvm radio (dance vinyll masters). i think the reason our night worked so well was because we didnt brand it as one style of music it was straight across the board,if it was a classic then it got played. in 2008 we decided to pull the brand as we both wanted to persue over interests,i decided to take a break from djing as it got to a stage where i stopped enjoying it and felt more of a chore going to work instead of doing something i loved. so now im back,loving my music more then ever and back on the scene :-)
