UK-based DJ Daniel Currie delivers high-energy, emotionally driven sets rooted in both house and trance. Inspired by following Marco V across the world in his early years, Daniel began DJing in 2009 with a clear focus on track selection, energy control and creating real connection on the dancefloor. His sound spans two worlds: soulful, vocal-led and uplifting deep tech house influenced by artists like Josh Butler, Rich Pinder, Roger Sanchez and Daft Punk, alongside driving, euphoric trance shaped by legends including Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Markus Schulz and Sander van Doorn. Across both styles, his sets are defined by long blends, emotional progression and sudden, impactful shifts in energy. Founder of the Detonation Radio Show (est. 2016), Daniel built his platform around the idea of energy building from the first spark to the final explosion — a journey of tension, release, and unity on the dancefloor. Expanded through Detonation House, the brand reflects both sides of his sound. Focused on intimate, underground environments, Daniel thrives in dark, sweat-soaked clubs where connection is immediate and music takes over completely. Known for high-energy sets and infectious selection, his goal is simple: to take people out of themselves and into a shared moment where nothing else matters.

After saving up money from my Saturday job, I bought my first set of decks, swapped CDs for vinyl and built up a Hip-Hop collection consisting of artists such as De La Soul, B.I.G. Snoop & Dre, and KRS-1. However, after the launch of Norwichs first ever pirate station Flight 100FM, I was fascinated by the homegrown sounds of Jungle and Garage and started hooking up with promoters on the local scene. This resulted in a couple of weekly UKG residencies at underground clubs such as Fat Paulys and Mojos. After moving to London in 2000, I started promoting and playing at various parties on the university circuit, including Kings, UCL, Imperial and Westminster, playing UKG, as well as Jungle, Dancehall, R&B and Funky House. Since then, highlights have included playing at the Ministry of Sound, raising money for charity with my Drum n Bass promotion, Elevate at Kings College, playing alongside MC Det, Eksman and Shabba D, a 2 year residency at The Marketplace, and playing at the well established Traffic at the Rhythm Factory with the Sub-Red collective on New Years Eve. Am currently a resident for the breaks night The Vinyl Touch at the Rhythm Factory and recently hosted their room at Moondance at SE1 this year. Venues include: (London) SE1, Gramaphone, Ministry of Sound, Club Aquarium, 93 Feet East, Rhythm Factory, Propaganda (Trap), Club Pop, Meet Bar, Push Bar, Yatch Club, Bar Revolution, Marketplace, Annexo Bar (Turnmills), Tutus (Kings), Area51 , Dragon Bar (Wesminster), DBs (Imperial), Windeyer (UCL) (Norwich) Mojos, Fat Paulys, Kafe Da, Concept (Optic), Hys Performed Alongside: Nicky Blackmarket, Ray Keith, DJ ;Hype, Bryan Gee, Artful Dodger, Jameson, Scratch Perverts, DJ ;Blakey, Dr S Gachet, EZ ;Rollers, Adam F, Shut Up and Dance,
Sugarhill Gang, Rakim, KRS1, De La Soul, Snoop, Biggie, Dre, Nas, Wu-Tang, EPMD, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Vybes Cartel, Elephant Man, Sizzla, Red Rat, Andy C, EZ, Hype, DJ Zinc, Marky, Def Tex, Friction, DJ Dimension, MC VIP, Lyric T, Ron and SL, Randall, Mickey Finn, 5-0, Eksman, Riko, Ragga Twins, Navigator, Stevie Hyper D, MC Moose, Elevate Crew, CKP, MC Creed, Ray Hurley, Mike Ryff Cutt Lloyd, Lex and G, Heartless Crew, Blak Twang, Rodney P, Kano, Wiley, MR Wong, Dizzie, Stevie Wonder, Stylistics, Marvin Gaye, Al Green....
