I've been DJing on the UK House scene since 1993 (and for 2 years on the "rave" scene before that) and over the past 30+ years I've been fortunate enough to play for some of THE biggest and most established clubs and promoters around the globe, including bookings for the likes of Defected, Glitterbox, Mission, Garlands, FunkDelux, Hed Kandi, Dirtyfunk, Miss Moneypennys, The Gallery, Escucha, Head, Ministry Of Sound, Venus, Housexy, Hard Times, Xstatic, Progress, Fantazia, Xstatic, and many many more. Not to mention 2 seasons and countless trips out to Ibiza, Marbella and beyond to play for the likes of Es Paradis, Hed Kandi, Pacha, Kanya, Plastic, Itaca, Garlands, Blowin' Up, Ocean Beach, Mode and Zoo, and festival appearances at Xstatic, GFest and Lowdown. I am currently resident DJ for UK House promoters Housexy, and Glitteratti. I host a monthly guest mix on Cyprus based ROCKFM (3rd Friday of every month,8-10 UK time) which goes out on FM radio right across mainland and eastern Europe, as well as via the internet, and I also have a weekly radio show every Monday on sublimesounds.com (8-10pm UK time), not to mention regular guest slots on internet and FM radio stations all around the globe, from Australia to Brazil to Tokyo to Finland, and of course, the UK. In 2015 I won the House-Mixes Soulful House mix competition, which opened a lot of doors and gave me a huge amount of media interest around the globe. I've previously done a guest mix for Defected In The House radio, and 2 for Hed Kandi radio. In 2016 I took step back from DJing to focus on family life, getting married, children etc -y k'now, all the normal grown up stuff - and returned to live club DJing in 2019 after being offered a residency at Mono.... and I've been there pretty much ever since. It's great because they love my sound and believe in what i do, they give me the freedom to play the Disco House sound I love, when many other promoters are tending to favor darker techier sounds for their dancefloors. But the queues at the door each week show that people still love the Funky Disco House sound, and it's still got a massive army of fans who want something more soulful on their weekends. Even though I'm just starting out on my DJing journey again It's great to be back doing what I love and having the opportunity to play to a crowd, I really missed that interaction you only get with a live crowd. The scene itself may be more competitive than ever before, but its also more creative, and i like that, I love the fact that I can express myself through my music and creativity. 2023 is looking to be my busiest year yet, with DJ bookings and media interest building up nicely, and lots of international booking interest. i started djing at 16 after months of begging the parents for months to buy me some 1210s,which i still use today going strong.my passion in music has to be old school piano,retro and vocal funky house if you cant sing to it then its no good lol.in the early nineties i started going clubbing,and for me to this day was the best for music.when i first got my 1210s i had no intension of djing in clubs it was just a hobby for and for my own enjoyment.i was actually tricked by a fellow dj and good friend who was already djing in clubs,when he phoned me up one thurday night and said he was ill and needed me to help him out and play at a bar for him,to which i found out later it was actually a dj competition to which he entered me and to my surprise i won to which the prize was residency at bradfords biggest dance club which pulled 700 to 800 in every friday and saturday night,my first night djing in the club was christmas eve which was packed out and i was shitting it,it was a big difference mixing some tracks in the bedroom and then to bid audience but i absolutely loved it and was hooked,and so my djing career was born. within the first year things went from strength to strength playing in numerous clubs all over yorkshire and holding down residencys and playing alongside some of the biggest names in the country (alister whitehead,k klass,paul taylor just to name a few) i was more known as a dj for my old school sets and so i was made a resident for retro which took me to ibiza djing at eden and loved every minute. in the mid 2000s i began working with a fellow dj (adam g) at a place called bar me which was just a bar not a club,but in the first 6 months playing there the profits soared 700% and went from a free bar and having to pay in on the door,so we sat down and thought were on to a winner here and decided to brand our own night and event,and so worship was born. our brand of night went from strength to strength holding down rooms at space,gatecrasher,visage and ethios,garlands and many more,we even ended up with our own radio show on a friday night on dvm radio (dance vinyll masters). i think the reason our night worked so well was because we didnt brand it as one style of music it was straight across the board,if it was a classic then it got played. in 2008 we decided to pull the brand as we both wanted to persue over interests,i decided to take a break from djing as it got to a stage where i stopped enjoying it and felt more of a chore going to work instead of doing something i loved. so now im back,loving my music more then ever and back on the scene :-)
