Hi all and welcome to my page,i'm a bit of a marmite dj some love it some hate it,i freely admit i get carried away in the music and often play louder and harder than i probably should but that's the fun of it,it's what i enjoy, having started d,j'ing some moons ago at a friends party it's carried on from there. hard house has been a huge influence growing up and spent many a darkened night in a small club somewhere getting upto no good, first learning to dj on some gemini's i eventually got some 1210's and fully embraced all the music that was available often spending a whole day at this small local record store buying up all the hard dance music i could find, unfortunately as this collection grew some punk decided that my house should be robbed that night n took the lot with a few other things. it was a couple years before i gathered myself up and basically started again hard house had changed hard trance was becoming the new way, my music collection was small done a few nights here n there still love the scene but d,j'ing itself was changing with cdj's becoming ever popular,I had at 1st denied their existance keeping the 1210's but eventually i caved and sold them. I bought a pair of cdj 900's and have to say i should have done so earlier the sheer volume of music available is mindblowing and i'm able to experiment with new sounds bringing the party to the usual madness i seem to create wherever i go. pioneer cdj 900 x2 technics 1210 x1 pioneer djm 350 trusty 30 year old pioneer amp powering jbl sound system.

I've been listening to Hard house since my friend put on an old tidy boys mix, heavens cry - till tears do us part felt like the best thing my ears had ever heard. Now though (thankfully) my tastes have progressed to producers and DJ's such as: Andy Farley, Rodi Style, Ben Stevens, Trauma, Ilogic, Dave Owens and labels: Vicious Circle, Toolbox, Deprivation and Bezerk. I have various aliases depending on Style and Genre but most commonly known as Olly Wood and Kurbdog. I've played various nights inc Tidy events alongside Garbo and the Tidy DJs, Custard Factory in Digbeth and at Air Godskitchen. I've been into the dance scene for a long time . I started out on the Trance scene visiting Passion on a regular basis but then after attending the first Global Gathering was soon to find myself wrapped up in the Hard House scene. I have a deep passion for the scene and its varying sounds and have grown to love the sound of NRG and Hard NRG and Trade , this being influenced by Dj's/producers such as Karim , Ian M ,Fergie,Captain Tinrib, Batten & Brow and Shenton. With my 2 favourite clubs being STORM and TWIST and after club being SHINE. Aswell as loving the Hard house scene being a clubber ive also started Dj-ing , a late starter maybe but loving every minute of it. . . AND i am proud to say i have learned the way that in my eyes everyone calling themselves a DJ should. . . . on vinyl. This is a dying art and is given little respect by the younger DJ's of today which is a shame . Until you actually start playing vinyl do you realise how much more of a feel you get for the music making each tune you play that bit more special and more intense. I have progressed onto cdj's , had to to be able to keep up with new tunes that are now only released on mp3. Not only that ive also started playing out,my first set being a b2b vinyl set with my partner Marky T at Vibration in Birmingham and more recently Shine in Birmingham and Blue at Subway city birmingham. I also came a close runner-up in the Obsession dj-competition and made it through to the 2nd heat of the Nu-breed competition also held at Subway and my Obsession mix has a regular slot being aired on Hardhouseuk.net internet radio. I hope to continue being part of the Hard House scene for a long time to come on both sides of the dex. Hard House has taken a bit of a beating just lately with the ever increasing popularity of Hard Dance and the sub genres that fall into this category, but i have faith in its return and will be at the forefront to ensure it stays with us , taking it back underground for the true clubbers where it belongs. . .
