The Moment I discovered House Music: Even through the thick Victorian walls that separated brother and sister, I can vividly remember being a curious 14 year-old; curious to know what this new sound was coming from my 18 year-old sister's bedroom. What was this relentless repetition of a straight eight bass beat with the tapping of a high-hat? I needed to know but couldn't ask; sis had company round and I was too shy to knock on and ask. The next day I snuck in and quickly 'borrowed' the disk she left in the player. It was black with a king of clubs card on the front. It said "Back to basics by Danny Tenaglia". And so, my journey through electronic sound began. Thank you sister; thank you Danny Tenaglia.

Always been in a relationship with Music and enjoy any involvement in listening to, making or mixing, and that has been the case as long as I can remember. I Dont claim to be the best mixer in the world but love the process and have been more than a little excited by the reaction of mates and acquaintances. I initially started loading them up on the net as I was being asked to copy the music and give out discs etc. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> Just seemed much simpler this way. </span> As I said I have always loved music and have written tracks working with great local producers over the years <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> although I tend to just write lyrics these days </span> <span style="font-family: Calibri;">As far as Mixing goes I have a residency in my bedroom most weekends occasionally play in my kitchen and in talks about maybe getting my kit set up in my living room</span> Joking aside, it is very much a hobby but still take it reasonably seriously and always seem to be listening out to tunes that I feel will benefit my record collection. Behind the Open Source project is Angelos Mavros from Athens, Greece. Angelos began making music under the alias OutSid3r in 1999 and has been constantly improving his outputs since then. In 2004, he started releasing music under the name "Open Source", as he switched from trackers to a professional DAW. All of his productions include prominent melodies and deep ambience that reflect the producer's melancholic psyche. In 2005, Angelos founded Ghost Label records, a label dedicated to electronic music that has released the majority of his tracks. Open Source embraced the overwhelming popularity of electronic music and infused the EDM scene with his unique, soulful sound. His outstanding live performances, in combination with his versatile musical style, have earned him a worldwide audience across multiple global venues.

House is this strange cooking of different flavours, able to make Loleatta Holloway sing on strings loop from Tchaïkovski's Concerto N°1, backed by the "Let no man put asunder" bassline from First Choice and the "Let's all chant" disco beat from Michael Zager Band. And it works. Bon appétit ! Back to 88, when I've discovered House music, with the first british House tracks (Beatmasters, S-Express...) made with sampling technique, followed by the brillant 90's Garage productions by the late Godfather Frankie Knuckles. A golden era. All those pionneers have built my inspiration. That's the reason why my tracks mix Garage harmonies with sampling collage coming from my collection of oldies and classic records (disco, funk, soul, classical music, etc.)
