Hi Everyone . I like to introduce myself to all music lovers: DJBEAR a.k.a DJBERKAND “Purveyor of deep, infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.” That’s how Berkand describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of Rock N Roll music (Elvis Presley,The Beatles), European pop stars (Mina, Julio Iglesias, Adriano Celentano), synth-infused 80s music (Depeche Mode, Gary Numan)… all which became infused with his own love for both disco, jazz and soft rock music, Berkand ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat. A very active member of Deep House community, Berkand is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in nightclubs, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a producer, amateur pianist, and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically. Is an Italian Disc Jockey & Producer born in Lagonegro (Potenza) in 1984, he began his career at the age of 14 years in various private parties of Lagonegrese, shortly after collaborates with a local radio mixing in a weekly dance program, in 2008 became Resident DJ in the main local in Salerno and Potentino, during the summer 2009-2010 participated in several races and DJ contest, winning once the first place and one the second. From 2016-2017 Reactive plays weekly for a Greek radio “Restradio” with its program called “Exclusive Deep”, at the same time announced the publication of “Welcome to Summer 2016” published by Palace Musix & Cea Production of Basel, and another project called “Vocal Deep Lab”, in a few days Reactive wins the Top 10 Mixes on Beatport, “Vocal Deep Lab Vol ” reaches the 5th position simultaneously Reactive also enters the ranking Top 10 DJs. Currently Reactive follows the Progressive House line and appears on the market with its name, while with external projects using pseudonyms. During the summer of 2018 he announces the imminent arrival of his first album which is expected to debut in the second quarter of 2019.

In the early nineties, I've played professionally in Bratislava, at the time when the country begun it's transition to new and better times. Early on, I have tried to find my own style and take the extra effort to play stuff that nobody played, especially on the radio. We used to buy DMC previews from London, but more often than not we were on the road to Munich, and Vienna to buy stuff that was not on the charts. House music back then was simple. In 92, I've found my way to the US as a student and begun in Brooklyn with nothing but bag of clothes and about a grand in my pocket. It was an awesome time, the music scene in NYC was great, Funk Master, Junior Vasquez, Chris the Greek, Hot 97. I've spent a decade studying and working in the city, and eventually landed in Charlotte, NC. Once you were a DJ, you will never look at it the same way, you will always seek that new sound and inspiration. This platform allows me to experience that feeling once more!
