DJ Kidd Kurrupt was born on Dec 8,1987 in LaPlata Maryland.At the tender age of ten I started dj'ing for the very first time in June 1,1998 at a underground reggea bashment an after my first gig I was hooked. I found out at a young age that I had a ear for music and a talent for mixing differnt genres of music like old school hip hop,reggae, and funk. My father was a DJ at the time also and he noticed that I was practicing on the turntables every chance that I got. My father started me off with a few gigs on saturdays at local block parties during the summer time.After a few gigs I started to make a name for myself in the neighborhood as the young kidd that can put it down on the turntables. A few years went by and I, DJ Kidd Kurrupt started to get more shows and a large following in the underground reggeaton scene and techno raves. I soon started to draw hundreds of people to my live sets. One day I met a club promoter while networking at a local mall, the two exchanged numbers and I, DJ Kidd Kurrupt invited him out to watch him perform at a show. When the club promoter saw the way I showed my skills, worked the crowd, and my ablilities with mixing and scratching; he decided to give me- this young and upcoming DJ a chance to spin at one of the biggest dance clubs in Maryland at the time. I play all forms of trance music like uplifting trance, vocal trance,progressive trance and psy trance.I also play wide variety of music such as oldschool/newschool Hiphop, R&B, Soul, Nu-Soul, Funk, Oldies electro, dubstep, Rap, Underground Hiphop, Reggae, Culture Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Culipso, Ragga, Ragga Jungle, tech house and technomusic. I can alos mix it up with Trance, Techno, Dance, Reggeaton, Salsa, Dirty South Rap, and Hindu music! DJ Chris aka The Funky Munky was a semi-professional Club DJ back in the 80's, in those days spinning the vinyl discs to Hi-Nrg music which was the mainstream of that day in gay clubs through the world. Chris started Djing in The Euston Tavern in London in 1983, and also did a guest Dj apperance in The famous Heaven Club in 1984. Moving on from London he then went to Milton Keynes where he was the resident DJ at The Loft in Wolverton, then onto becomming the resident Dj at The Regent Club in Northampton which he did for about 5 years, at the same time he also did every other friday night at The Princess Royal (also in Northampton). In the early 90's Chris moved into the resident spot at The Lord Raglan in Wolverhampton. Chris has also done occasional DJ sets at the The Flamingo in Blackpool during the early 90's as a relief Dj. Today DJ Chris (The Funky Munky) is no longer a professional DJ, but he still produces great podcast Dj Mixes of modern Electro Funky House, and often does many retro mixes such as Hi-NRG, Disco, Eurodance, and Remixes to name a few. Hi Folks! My name is Marcel aka DJ Demars. I've been doin' IT 'in the mix' since 1983'. When I write this I am 48 years old (young?) so maybe I am the most senior citizen over at house-mixes.com :-) All the early mixes are lost due to a minimum of interest in this hobby from me in the late eigthies. But now I am older and wiser I'm mixing again since september 2007 and- thanx to the modern media- am saving al my work since then now. You can find it at my website (maybe later here as well). My great example in my early years was Ben Liebrand (NL). He was the reason why I started this crazy hobby in the first place (thanx Ben for stealing my free time). I am mixing just for the fun of it, at home, in my homestudio. People can only pay me by telling me that they like what I'm producing... so why wait? Leave a comment.
