Inspired by electronic music Detag began at an early age collecting vinyl and spinning records. Acid house and (Detroit) techno laid out the basis for his musical inspiration and appreciation for electronic and often more heavy beats. In the late nineties he then also organized various techno and electro parties with the 'Martian Arts' collective. In 2001 Detag decided that electro should have a bigger platform and began organizing solid electro parties under his own name. On these 'ElectroStar' parties many familiar names from the electro scene where programmed and record labels like 'Bunker records' and 'Djax-Up-Beats' where therefore well represented. Even now Detag is sill organizing events where local djs and veterans can play and can keep the inspiration high. After some co-productions with Star- Kid and Cancer Dogs and a release on Bunker records Detag has played at almost all of the well known venues within the region. Today Detag is still spinning the wheels off steel and the man behind the 'Haagse Vinger Beats' events and co founder of 'The Hoax City' which is a local music platform where a lot off new releases en mixes can be found straight from the West Coast!!

Music has been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember and im confident to say its shaped who I am today. From a very young age I was very much into Syththesized music , especially Jean Michelle Jarre (one of my all time heroes). Along side this I loved early electro house and Detroit techno so naturally , was blown away with the late 80’s acid house explosion and even more so by the early 90’s Rave explosion, and this is where my passion really set in. I first went on a pair of decks at the tender age of 9 years old (1991), and around this time got 1xdeck for Christmas, now….clearly you don’t have to be a dj to understand that this is useless for mixing, but, for beatmatching, this was the best thing you could imagine! Id beatmatch vinyls to tapes,or anything that was playing in the house,and by the time I got my 2nd deck and mixer at 12years old, the learning curve of beatmatching was already mastered! Now, musically , im predominantly Hardcore, always have been, from early breakbeat hardcore right through to todays sounds. Ive loved the evolution of the sound and have the same passion for the sound as I did 20 years ago. Trance was a major influence for me in the 90’s too , especially Paul Oakenfold/Sasha/Digweed to name a few….their ability to seamlessly blend tracks together over the course of an hour or so and leave me feeling like id been on a musical journey really inspired me and applied this same technique to everything I mixed. Today, I concentrate mainly on Uk Hardcore and Hard dance, which while im “here” must mention how impressed and inspiring I find hard dance at the mo , from the techy minimal sounds right through to the tough hardstyle sounds of Europe, I feel this scene has got a lot to offer and has something for everyone. Im loving the Hard dance scene as a whole at the moment, whether it be Breakbeats/Kickdrums/trancey/ravey/techy/fast/slow…..the scene in my eyes is as diverse as its ever been, whatever others may think! Music is a way of life!

Love enjoy music it's my door to escape all the bullshit in life, Infact music has played a big part in my life since around about 1992 that's i when i bought my first hardcore/jungle cassette tape. Evev since then Hardcore has been my favourite GENRE of music and has stuck like Glue Through the years i have enjoyed diffrent genre's of music but my true love is hardcore thats were it all began :). oh did i mention also like comedy, family time, socializing and computer maintenance. BOOOOOOOOSH there ya go a little bio of myself.

ok time to get serious , i have been djing for nearly 20 years on and off music is a huge part of my life . i started out playing house music back in the day trying to perfect my skills ( still trying ) back then i was playing mainly italo house and big piano anthems and this music still holds a huge spot in my heart , more recently i have started to move more towards more modern house and tech house embracing the music and everything tht comes with it . music has moved on djing has moved on and im just trying to do the same :) . all my mixes are free to download and your comments good or bad are more than welcome . hope you enjoy Jay :)
