DJ / MC MADMAN Alan Laidlaw or better known to the clubbing masses as DJ/ MC Madman is probably now regarded as a veteran of the rave / dance scene but it was a very different story for him when he first started as a 16 year old. That’s when he got his first taste of the clubbing music scene. Madman has an incredible 17 years experience under his belt with his first gig at the Marcos forum in Livingston, Scotland in 1992. This wasn’t a set gig but managing to get backstage he asked for a shot of the mic and hasn’t looked back since. His taste when younger was mostly Italian piano stuff before moving in to the harder side of dance and eventually hardcore, with great dj’s such as Carl Cox, Tony de Vit and the late great Tom Wilson having a great influence on him. In madmans first 4 years of being in the business he played at all the major hardcore partys in England, wales and Northern ireland regularly having to juggle 4 gigs in a weekend in different countrys, by now madmans name was at the forefront of the rave scene and became so sought after that some dj's refused to work with anyone but him. By 1998 madman was well on his way playing out to thousands of clubbers each weekend and when attending a rezerection event he was introduced to Scotlands legendary hero DJ Tom wilson, the pair connected instantly and they went on to form a partnership which became a great success. For the next 11 years Tom Wilson & MC Madman headlined the majority of big events in scotland. In 2002 came the booking that would stay with them forever with madman and partner Tom taking to the decks and mic to play at scotlands biggest outdoor music festival T in The Park, with them playing the biggest old skool anthems to not only an incredible 12000 happy festival goers but also to 250,000 live listeners on Scotlands biggest radio staion Beat 106. There is no doubt why the guys always see this as their all time favorite gig as even to this day, 7 years on people still rave about this event and the set the guys played. Sadly this partnership ended on 25th march 2004 with Madmans best friend and music partner Tom Wilson passing away suddenly of a heartattack, the loss of his inspiration, best friend and music partner hit madman very badly and he saw no reason to carry on being an artist in the music scene as the two were almost inseparable and what was Mc Madman without DJ Tom Wilson it took some time before madman made the choice to carry on in the business and go out and keep his best friends name and music alive. Madman inherited all toms vinyl records and took control of his very own radio / tv show on tomdj tv plus toms own very popular website tomdj.co.uk . The radio show has become the most listened to of its kind with 1000's of listeners tuning in every week to hear there favorite old skool tunes and Trance anthems being played. As time went on madman went from big things to even bigger things, now being a resident dj at scotlands biggest oldskool night Back to the future and being everpresent on the line up to the 10,000 strong capacity event fantazia and also fantasylands at ingleston edinburgh. Being a MC as well as a DJ , madman is always kept very busy and rarely gets any weekends off, he spends most of his time during the week working in his studio writing new tunes and lyrics keeping things up to date and fresh in his sets. This hard work has payed off because for the last 4 years Madman has carried the tag of being scotlands number one MC and its something he is greatly proud of. He also manages to keep his set going on tomdj r

I got into mixing when owning a music room on Paltalk about 10 years ago, and got curious how people were playing and mixing music, so eventually I acquired a software program called Traktor, which was fun to experiment with, but quite hard work. I managed to master the basics, but not a fully fledged mixer. In 2008 I met my partner DJ Graphite, who introduced me to Virtual DJ, which was a lot more user friendly, he showed me the ropes, and the rest is history as they say, and my love of music has grown more and more. I dont put myself out there as a proper DJ, as i dont use decks or CDJs etc, but think that I am pretty good at mixing and mashing, as I do love creating mashups lol. I currently co own my own Internet Radio Station called "Audacity FM" with my Fiancé Mark Bradley We have 2 Channels, Trance and House & EDM Channel. www.audacityfm.com You can check out my personal uploads and let me know what ya think, as i am always open to ideas and suggestions. If ya wanna know anything more, then send me a message or add me on Facebook. Add me as a friend: Kaz Bradley (DJ Xtra Bass)
