GroovePunk is a DJ based in West London and the host of 'All About House' - a weekly show live on GrooveLondon Radio every Saturday 4pm - 6pm GMT. After falling in love with House music and buying his first pair of turntables over ten years ago, GroovePunk has played a variety of venues in and around London as well as on a number of Internet radio stations. Growing up just outside London in the mid to late 90s, GroovePunk witnessed the transition from the acid house era of the late 80s/early 90s to the UK/US garage and trance-heavy early 00s. This provided a highly eclectic and open view of electronic music which can be heard through GroovePunks’ sound that often blends all sub-genres of house. As a bit of a tech junkie, GroovePunk has DJed with just about every type of DJ kit released – starting with turntables, moving to CDJs, then MP3 decks and most recently software and a variety of controllers. But it’s not about the kit, it’s about the music. GroovePunks’ shows aim to deliver the finest selection of fresh House promos and underground tracks. It’s all about House.

Sirkit Br8ker (Mike Fogg) is all about music. He has been composing music more than 25 years. It all started early at the age of six when Mike began composing original songs on the piano by ear. A few years later, Mike quickly gained a passion for live electronic music. Back in 97′ when he was still in middle school, he began creating live techno beats on his keyboard at school talent shows. Remixing popular theme songs at the time like the one from the motion picture Mission Impossible. Mike found this new technology just as interesting and entertaining and got into production at home. Producing music for online web applications, websites, and local business’ as well as editing and sampling radio spots for local companies, all while in his parent’s basement. Still having that driving musical force behind him, Mike began his journey into the life of electronic dance music. He has spent the last 15 years enjoying the best the Midwest has to offer. From multiple underground events and shows to top-notch local performers and headliners, live and right in Minneapolis. Mike has not confined himself to one specific genre or style. He plays a variety of House and Techno, such as Tech, Minimal, Funky, Jackin, Fidget, Deep, G, Bass, and Electro, as well as Breakbeats, UK Garage, Bassline, Hip-Hop, Future Funk, Funk, Drum and Bass, and Drum-Step. Mike has a style and skill all his own and adds a new twist to the music we enjoy. Listen for beat juggling, scratching, emceeing, original tracks, and see the love and passion that goes into his music. Mike has performed alongside and opened for multiple headliners including Dada Life, Dirty Phonics, Dj Dan, Dj Icey, Run DMT, Diesel Boy, S3rl, Danny the Wild Child, Dj SW@T, and much more. Additionally, Mike has played at legendary Night Clubs in downtown Minneapolis, such as First Avenue Night Club, Epic, Skyway, The Loft, Barfly, and Minneapolis’ finest underground venues, and house parties. Welcome all, to “love and best of music”, where we try to share the best of all genres to fit all tastes. Permit me to share a little about my history, and how `love and best of music’ came to be and its aim. Firstly, allow me introduce myself…. I am `DJ Chonka’… a gentleman of slightly older years (Very late 40s early 50s), who has amassed a fondness for quality sounds along with a few grey hairs. Having the fortuitous luck to have been born in the early 70s, I was blessed to have been surrounded by great music, introduced in my early years, by my mother (shout out to mum, love your posts on the Love and best of music’ Facebook Group), influenced by such an eclectic array of sounds. Ranging from Reggie’ (Reggae), soul, Motown, to funk, gospel,!synth-pop, and the likes of Bryan Ferry and the brilliance of Kraftwerk from the 70s early 80s… alas, there are far too many to mention. Those influences paid me in good stead for my formative years, as I learned more about my own musical tastes i.e., mid-80s electro (shout out to the b-boys and the b-girls out there living the dream), then comes the mid to late 80s early 90s, and the start of the second summer of love for the UK, with electronic dance music and the indie scene kicking in. I was a young man who fully embraced the music of the times such as Frankie knuckles, Marshal Jefferson and a guy called Gerald. It was the early 90s rave scene, breaks (Breakbeat), big beat, rock, among others, where i had the opportunity to try my hand at mixing on the `1s and 2s’ (decks), mainly breaks with the odd bit of big beat, trip hop and techno. Whilst being privileged to see some great bands perform at festivals during the same years. Which leads us to about 5-6 years ago, where the first seeds of the love and best of music’ were planted. Social media had given me an opportunity to share my love for music with friends and friends to be (as they say “a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet”). So not only could I post my favourite tunes and mixes with everyone who loves music, but they too would have a platform to share their favourite music or influences, even their own mixes, or maybe even a composition or two of their own. 2022 is an all-new beginning for the love and best of music’…. We now have a YouTube, Mixcloud and Twitch channel, where you can find the best in all genres of music to fit all tastes, we will be live streaming on each of those platforms.
