Hi Everyone . I like to introduce myself to all music lovers: DJBEAR a.k.a DJBERKAND “Purveyor of deep, infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.” That’s how Berkand describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of Rock N Roll music (Elvis Presley,The Beatles), European pop stars (Mina, Julio Iglesias, Adriano Celentano), synth-infused 80s music (Depeche Mode, Gary Numan)… all which became infused with his own love for both disco, jazz and soft rock music, Berkand ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat. A very active member of Deep House community, Berkand is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in nightclubs, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a producer, amateur pianist, and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically. Special thanks to my brother "COZ" for inspiring me to return to my Boricua roots, and for the gift of congas one snowy Navidad in NJ which inspired me to return to the congas and the Salsa music that gave birth to "El Mazacote de la Mexcla Salsera", THANKS BRO !!!! A special shout out to my mom, dad and uncle Ray for the gift of music and percussion at a very young age, god bless you always !!!! I also want to thank my entire family for allowing me to share my gift of music with you all, I truly loved all of those times and wouldn't change a thing, just live life to its fullest and listen to your heart !!!! About me, I have been recording & mixing Latin Jazz & Salsa Gorda since 1977, I also mix Latin, house, dance classics, old school 1980's hip-hop and world music. I have also played live Latin Jazz percussion at the Blue note NYC, and at Cecil's Swingin' Latin jazz nights in Orange NJ. My musical mentors who taught me during my teenage years and in the Spanish Harlem percussion clinics include the jazz & salsa legends Ray Barretto, Tito Puente and Charlie Palmieri. I also love to play Latin percussion to just about everything especially the "Fania All-Stars", I have also mixed "salsa gorda" tunes for my brother from another mother and dear fellow friend Pedro Gomez back at Telemundo TV studios in Hato Rey PR, que viva la salsa por que aqui se formo la rumba!!!!

From as early as grade school Tony was always into music. In the 6th grade Tony was spinning "Saturday Night Fever" LP's while the other kids danced. In high school, Tony was the guy with a huge ghetto blaster perched on his shoulder with the hottest new releases. Tony also spent some time in a band and playing guitar but it was in the early nineties he bought his first turntables and started mixing. Professionally, Tony started his career playing at the infamous Ibiza Hotel. One night, world famous DJ Dimitris Mykonos heard him spinning and approached him about working together. For many years Dimitris and Tony could be seen together playing parties at Ibiza, Pleasurezone. Tony has even performed several events for MTV including a nationally broadcast episode of the reality show Fraternity Life. Tony has had the great pleasure to spin at venues in Vegas and Internationally has had the chance to DJ at some great venues in Indonesia and Singapore including the reknowned Double 6 nightclub in Bali. Now-a-days Tony still enjoys his residency at Pleasurezone. He also has been performing at Dusk Parties around the Bay. With such a wide repertoire of music (Dance, Hip Hop, Top 40, mash-ups and more) Tony Roxxx has found his way into some of the top venues in San Francisco and the South Bay including 1015 Folsom, Ruby Skye and many others. FINALLY I UPGRADED MY GEAR TO 1 PIONEER DDJ-1000 CONTROLLER/CD PLAYER And. Its an awesome piece of equipment love the sound and effects and the faders are so nice and smooth
