My name is DJ Zoli, and music has been part of my life since childhood. For nearly 15 years, my life was deeply connected to discos and the club scene. I started my DJ career in 1993, fully dedicating myself to mixing and creating music for clubs and events. My energetic style quickly made me a familiar face, and I built a strong connection with the crowd wherever I played. Over the years, I had the chance to travel and perform on different stages, gaining not only musical experience but also personal growth. Feeling the energy of the people and turning it into music became my signature. In 2008, I decided it was time for a change and stepped away from active DJing. Even today, I don’t play at big events anymore, but my passion for music and mixing is still alive.I’m still part of the music community, and I’m proud of everything I’ve achieved. I like to introduce myself to all music lovers: DJBEAR a.k.a DJBERKAND “Purveyor of deep, infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.” That’s how Berkand describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of Rock N Roll music (Elvis Presley,The Beatles), European pop stars (Mina, Julio Iglesias, Adriano Celentano), synth-infused 80s music (Depeche Mode, Gary Numan)… all which became infused with his own love for both disco, jazz and soft rock music, Berkand ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat. A very active member of Deep House community, Berkand is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in nightclubs, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes.
