I've been DJing since the early 80's playing Soul, Funk, Disco and Rare Grooves. I was a B-boy collecting and playing Hip Hop since it's birth and also Electro. I was very busy guesting at many prestigious UK Clubs and abroad from the late 80's and throughout the 90's playing various styles of House Music. An avid collector of many genres of music for over 30 years and love good productions and quality grooves. I'm currently loving the grooves coming out of the UK House scene. I think the UK are producing the best House grooves at the moment. Although, the US still have some awesome vibes, as always. Hi Everyone . I like to introduce myself to all music lovers: DJBEAR a.k.a DJBERKAND “Purveyor of deep, infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.” That’s how Berkand describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of Rock N Roll music (Elvis Presley,The Beatles), European pop stars (Mina, Julio Iglesias, Adriano Celentano), synth-infused 80s music (Depeche Mode, Gary Numan)… all which became infused with his own love for both disco, jazz and soft rock music, Berkand ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat. A very active member of Deep House community, Berkand is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in nightclubs, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a producer, amateur pianist, and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically.
