With ten years he begun to play drums. Two years later he discovered his love for djing. CIGAMRACSO started his musical career in 1989 as DJ for important clubs in Madrid. Nightclubs like OYE, ATTICA, CIRCUS and PACHA VILLABA, OKI as well as others. He also developed his career as a radio presenter on TOP 40 and Antenna 3. That decade (wonderful decade of the 80s) without doubt left an unforgettable impression on those who lived through dance music that was probably the most creative ever produced. During the 90s he continued both as a radio DJ and as resident DJ at clubs such as KASIM, the biggest super-nightclub on the Spanish Mediterranean. In 1992 he moved to Ohio (USA) where he immersed himself in the house and funky culture. Two years later, having returned to Spain, his professional development rocketed as he developed his own productions and worked at elite clubs particularly in IBIZA where he became a reference in house music. He has developed his own style defined as FRESH HOUSE... Powerful rythmic bases combined with musical samples from the 70s and 80s: electronic and Italy Dance - and this thanks to the mastery of systems like CDJ 2000, DJM 2000, remix system RMX 1000 and others. I like to introduce myself to all music lovers: DJBEAR a.k.a DJBERKAND “Purveyor of deep, infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.” That’s how Berkand describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of Rock N Roll music (Elvis Presley,The Beatles), European pop stars (Mina, Julio Iglesias, Adriano Celentano), synth-infused 80s music (Depeche Mode, Gary Numan)… all which became infused with his own love for both disco, jazz and soft rock music, Berkand ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat. A very active member of Deep House community, Berkand is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene.
