About me, I have been recording & mixing Latin Jazz & Salsa Gorda since 1977, I also mix Latin, house, dance classics, old school 1980's hip-hop and world music. I have also played live Latin Jazz percussion at the Blue note NYC, and at Cecil's Swingin' Latin jazz nights in Orange NJ. My musical mentors who taught me during my teenage years and in the Spanish Harlem percussion clinics include the jazz & salsa legends Ray Barretto, Tito Puente and Charlie Palmieri. I also love to play Latin percussion to just about everything especially the "Fania All-Stars", I have also mixed "salsa gorda" tunes for my brother from another mother and dear fellow friend Pedro Gomez back at Telemundo TV studios in Hato Rey PR, que viva la salsa por que aqui se formo la rumba!!!!

i started djing at 16 after months of begging the parents for months to buy me some 1210s,which i still use today going strong.my passion in music has to be old school piano,retro and vocal funky house if you cant sing to it then its no good lol.in the early nineties i started going clubbing,and for me to this day was the best for music.when i first got my 1210s i had no intension of djing in clubs it was just a hobby for and for my own enjoyment.i was actually tricked by a fellow dj and good friend who was already djing in clubs,when he phoned me up one thurday night and said he was ill and needed me to help him out and play at a bar for him,to which i found out later it was actually a dj competition to which he entered me and to my surprise i won to which the prize was residency at bradfords biggest dance club which pulled 700 to 800 in every friday and saturday night,my first night djing in the club was christmas eve which was packed out and i was shitting it,it was a big difference mixing some tracks in the bedroom and then to bid audience but i absolutely loved it and was hooked,and so my djing career was born. within the first year things went from strength to strength playing in numerous clubs all over yorkshire and holding down residencys and playing alongside some of the biggest names in the country (alister whitehead,k klass,paul taylor just to name a few) i was more known as a dj for my old school sets and so i was made a resident for retro which took me to ibiza djing at eden and loved every minute. in the mid 2000s i began working with a fellow dj (adam g) at a place called bar me which was just a bar not a club,but in the first 6 months playing there the profits soared 700% and went from a free bar and having to pay in on the door,so we sat down and thought were on to a winner here and decided to brand our own night and event,and so worship was born. our brand of night went from strength to strength holding down rooms at space,gatecrasher,visage and ethios,garlands and many more,we even ended up with our own radio show on a friday night on dvm radio (dance vinyll masters). i think the reason our night worked so well was because we didnt brand it as one style of music it was straight across the board,if it was a classic then it got played. in 2008 we decided to pull the brand as we both wanted to persue over interests,i decided to take a break from djing as it got to a stage where i stopped enjoying it and felt more of a chore going to work instead of doing something i loved. so now im back,loving my music more then ever and back on the scene :-)

contact me contact me Marc Whitelaw A.K.A 'Whitey' has been in and around the clubbing scene for over a decade, starting off listening to legends such as Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega & Todd Terry tearing up Dancefloor's all over the word. The respect gained from these artists lead Whitey into looking at becoming a DJ and being more involved in the underground scene. Whitey then became more aware of the Hard Dance scene having followed the likes of the Tidy Boys where he found where he's DJ soul lies. From then on Whitey started playing Hard Dance & Trance. His energetic style would ensure that every Dancefloor he played at would be at it's peak. Although his heart lies in the Harder scene, 2003 was a massive turning and Whitey found himself falling deeper into the underground Funky House scene. From this point he teamed up with his friend Craig Elliott: the duo who brought you Sunday Sessions. My toys ;) Denon DNS 3700 This cd player is the best i've used, very easy to use... I don't really understand why all the dj's only use pioneer...With them i feel the same sensation like the vinyls, and that had no prices.... Vestax PDX-D3 The most expensives turntables in 1997...but i don't regret my choice...In 2012 they are working like the first day... But...to be honest, since i've buy my denon dns, i don't use them anymore...Maybe in the future, if i'll come one day to traktor or serato. Pioneer DJM300 My old mixer...12 years old....little, simple, efficient...and no expensive.... RPDJ 1210... One of the best heaphone (for me ;))...10 years without any problems... Very strong bass...maybe a little too much... In the future.....The project.... Traktor S4 I need to follow the dj "evolution"...That what i'll buy in the next step...
