His Dj name comes from his profession; Neon crafter and tubular glassblower (one of the 14 in The Netherlands) & electric signmaker. He's a Dj of the 1st-generation. Dj Neonglass made his first steps in mixing on age 14 (1977),before that he was a "talking Dj" (compared with a "radio Dj'', as many Dj's where in that days) He was “working” with some friends every friday evening on a Drive-inn disco, called “Disco Skylab” in a youth centre called: “Openluchtschool” (O.L.S)”, in The Hague. They also had an illegal F.M Radio stations called “Skylab Radio, Skyline Radio,Tempo Radio”. Then he saw in a local disco called “De Marathon” the Dj mix two records together. Fortunately one of his friends knew more about mixing. He started mixing with 2 MARANTZ record players with pitch-control. Inspired by his discovery,he began to create customised pause button mixes on his big reeel taperecorder (later cassette) as he realised that certain records could be made more suitable for the dance floor, if they wen given a slight twist of extension. At the age of 16 he was asked to play at several Clubs as a guest Dj. Mixing was in that time very special and also all Clubs had "talking Dj's" in that time. One of his friends he “worked” in the Drive-inn Disco with is now known as Atlantic Ocean a.k.a Dj Lex van Coeverden (World Hit Single Waterfall & Waterfall 2009). In 1984 he stopped mixing, so he had time to found his own Neonsign- factory. After 24 years not being mixing and Dj-ing, he took some Mixing lessons in youthcentre “BAZART” also located on the grounds of the former O.L.S, the place where it in 1977 all began. When he’s started his Mixing lessons,he noticed that there was a lot of changed in the DJ equipment. He decided to quit mixing with vinyl and go for the new technological tools now like mixing with 2 CD players with pitchcontrol. Nowerday's he's a Resident Dj @ several radio stations. Got 2 Pioneer CDJ1000, a few SL1200's, a pioneer CDM mixer, and some traktor stuff... see my (digital) playlists at http://www.playlists.hu , and I have a archive of ca. 8000 12" vinyls Artist names : DJ one 2 one, The Beatcollector, Da Maniac, DJ DEX, DJ T.O.M. Real name : Frans de Wit DJ-ing since : 70's Music-Style : House, Club, Hard Club, Techno, Progressive, Electronic, Trance, BPM range between 125 and 145 Thanks to DMC (Disco Mix Club) he made a lot (music-industry) friends all over the world, and at the moment he has also a lot of contacts around the world trough internet, in september 2009 the DMC World Championship had its 25th anniversary in London. DJ one2one grew up with music from Deep Purple, Yes, Led Zepplin, Frank Zappa, Kinks, Rolling Stones and began dj-ing at schoolparties with music like Mud, Sweet and a few years later some soul and discotunes like chic, trammps, sister sledge, (Saturday Night Fever) Bee-Gees, Michael Jackson etc. , wich resulted in a dj career with a mobile drive in show during the seventies. He started mixing at clubs in 1979 (just after the release of a linn-drum-machine). The hip-hop scene became popular with Joseph Saddler (born in the same year as Frans), better known as Grandmaster Flash (the message) aka the man who helped invent hip hop.... Grandmaster Flash spun vinyl records alongside DJ Herc at the fabled street gatherings in The Bronx. In 1982 & 1983 Frans was also sound technician by a disco-funk-rock-latin band called "Magrib". In 1984 he had his own radio-show called HitBox wich became very popular, maybe because he played the existing dance-hits of the moment, mixed with the dance hits of the (near) future. During his radio-shows a new hobby started : doing interviews with people from the music-scene, and let them do some station calls and name jingles. He interviewed people like Gloria Estefan (with Miami Sound Machine), Lime, Five Star, Adeva, The Trammps, Sister Sledge, Allison Williams, Kraze, Tina Turner.....and many more. In 1986 he started with turntabalism, kind of acrobatics with technics SL1200 turntables. Later in 1986 the warehouse parties started with People from England (thanx 2 SOHO connection with Maz Weston, Graham B. en Paul Jay) and house music became mainstream. As dj one2one he was a resident dj in many clubs (7 years resident in Club Luxor, Holland) In 1997 DJ one2one became world-champion in Fast-Mixing (mixing 19 different vinyl records in 2 minutes). Till today there is no DJ in the world who has beat that. Nowdays he is playing House-Energy-Trance-Progressive music, mostly with many different melody-lines in one song, and is well know for his long smooth mixes ! Today dj one2one has his own weekly radioshow at http://www.radiohitec.com called Dance 2 Trance, fridays 23:00 CET where he plays the hottest sounds from the clubscenes around the world. you can find his playlists on http://www.playlists.hu/radio-shows/dance2trance/ Paul van Dyk
