Hello. I'm old, really, really old. I'm 40 in fact. I "came of age" musically in the year 1989 hearing some weird and freaky sounds emanating from the radio at daft o'clock. Odd squelchy, industrial sounds. I was hooked. The electronic music scene exploded and I was caught up in the blast. I suppose my earliest "electronic" influences were from my Dads Pink Floyd and ELO albums. Then Jean Michel Jarre. I love all electronic music really but my "jumping around like a Banana on a piece of string" moments tended to arise when listening to rave music. Mickey Finn, Grooverider, Sy, Ratty and Ellis Dee. I did enjoy the Hardcore side to it but found myself being drawn to the darker, junglier (?!?!) sounds.  I bought my first set of decks in 92 and have owned many pairs since. I remember fondly opening my first set of 1210's and realising that these were the benchmark. THE decks. I have owned 3 pairs (1 x set of silver 1200's) of Technics and sadly sold my last pair in 2000 but I could never bear to part with my vinyl. I played at a couple of Illegal raves in Nottingham but the majority of my "work" was house parties. Many, many, many house parties be they at friends houses or friends of friends or just some fella that me and my mates met after a night out in Mansfield or wherever. After marrying my beautiful wife in 2008 I decided that I needed some decks in my life so I plumped for some direct drive decks (not Techinics. I know, disgraceful behaviour) and a mixer and started both playing my old stuff and buying some new stuff. I surprised myself with the amazing retention of "being able to mix" and decided to do a few CD's for my friends and colleagues at work. Some wanted old happy hardcore, others old D and B/jungle, others the new stuff. All went down well and with the advent of the Interweb thingy and after my good friend Mark suggested this site I thought i'd upload some. I am now the proud owner of Technics 1200mk5's and a Korg mixer. I am also now dipping my toe into the digital world. Look out for some new mixes coming soon..... Thanks. Foxual. 2 x Technics SL1200 mk3's, Korg mixer, Harman Kardon Amp, Sony CD recorder, Tascam portable digital recorder.
