DJ Kidd Kurrupt was born on Dec 8,1987 in LaPlata Maryland. At the tender age of ten I started dj'ing for the very first time in June 1,1998 at a underground reggea bashment an after my first gig I was hooked. I found out at a young age that I had a ear for music and a talent for mixing differnt genres of music like old school hip hop, reggae, and funk. My father was a DJ at the time also and he noticed that I was practicing on the turntables every chance that I got. My father started me off with a few gigs on saturdays at local block parties during the summer time. After a few gigs I started to make a name for myself in the neighborhood as the young kidd that can put it down on the turntables. A few years went by and I, DJ Kidd Kurrupt started to get more shows and a large following in the underground reggeaton scene and techno raves. I soon started to draw hundreds of people to my live sets. One day I met a club promoter while networking at a local mall, the two exchanged numbers and I, DJ Kidd Kurrupt invited him out to watch him perform at a show. When the club promoter saw the way I showed my skills, worked the crowd, and my ablilities with mixing and scratching; he decided to give me- this young and upcoming DJ a chance to spin at one of the biggest dance clubs in Maryland at the time. I play all forms of trance music like uplifting trance, vocal trance, progressive trance and psy trance.I also play wide variety of music such as oldschool/newschool Hiphop, R&B, Soul, Nu-Soul, Funk, Oldies electro, dubstep, Rap, Underground Hiphop, Reggae, Culture Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Culipso, Ragga, Ragga Jungle, tech house and technomusic. I can alos mix it up with Trance, Techno, Dance, Reggeaton, Salsa, Dirty South Rap, and Hindu music! Now you can find me destroying the crowds with my unforgettable live sets, my energy, and mixing skills all over The Washington D.C. area, Baltimore City, and across Europe and South America.Be sure to keep your hearts an eyes open for me- DJ Kidd Kurrupt at your favorite parties and night clubs!

Listening to mix tapes from the likes of Neuro, Jooce, Danza, Zone and Fever, ultimately inspired me to become a DJ. I began buying records, even though I had no turntables, and began itchin’ it up on my mum’s hi-fi turntable…. Soon I was “king of the one deck mix” and thought it time to further my DJ skills. At 13 I grafted all summer holidays to get myself some decks… belt drives…Aaargh!!! As you can imagine my skills didn’t improve much until I got my first pair of Technics. Some practice later I began Djing at friends parties etc. In 1998 (aged 17) I entered an advertised competition for bedroom DJ's on a local dance radio station called Splash FM. Play-offs were held with a total of 30 DJ's in all. Each set played was to be an hour long live on radio! I came 1st and won the title of “Best Bedroom DJ in the Fylde Coast”, which soon led to a residency at Zone in 1999. A rapid interest was shown in my abilites and began playing in venues all over the UK. Soon I was to join forces with 3 of the North West's greatest DJ’s Andy Pendle, Rikkee & Steven Jay. We began to promote our own night called FOREPLAY (2000- present). Definately the most innovative Hard House & Trance night around, and proudly pioneers of the underground “bounce” scene which is prominent today. Aswell as promting our FOREPLAY nights around the UK we started to produce our own tunes (FOREPLAYERS - CHEMICAL CREW - CODE 3) which achieved recognition in the bounce scene with plays all over clubland. Currently we are working on all genres of dance music, bounce, hardhouse, hardcore, breaks & electro house + some random stuff! Im especially devoted to Rave Breaks at the moment - dj'ing & producing - can't get enough of it! Total oldskool roots combined with modern production - pianos - breakbeats & rave style vocals - awesome! Music has been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember and im confident to say its shaped who I am today. From a very young age I was very much into Syththesized music , especially Jean Michelle Jarre (one of my all time heroes). Along side this I loved early electro house and Detroit techno so naturally , was blown away with the late 80’s acid house explosion and even more so by the early 90’s Rave explosion, and this is where my passion really set in. I first went on a pair of decks at the tender age of 9 years old (1991), and around this time got 1xdeck for Christmas, now….clearly you don’t have to be a dj to understand that this is useless for mixing, but, for beatmatching, this was the best thing you could imagine! Id beatmatch vinyls to tapes,or anything that was playing in the house, and by the time I got my 2nd deck and mixer at 12years old, the learning curve of beatmatching was already mastered! Now, musically , im predominantly Hardcore, always have been, from early breakbeat hardcore right through to todays sounds. Ive loved the evolution of the sound and have the same passion for the sound as I did 20 years ago. Trance was a major influence for me in the 90’s too , especially Paul Oakenfold/Sasha/Digweed to name a few….their ability to seamlessly blend tracks together over the course of an hour or so and leave me feeling like id been on a musical journey really inspired me and applied this same technique to everything I mixed. Today, I concentrate mainly on Uk Hardcore and Hard dance, which while im “here” must mention how impressed and inspiring I find hard dance at the mo , from the techy minimal sounds right through to the tough hardstyle sounds of Europe, I feel this scene has got a lot to offer and has something for everyone. Im loving the Hard dance scene as a whole at the moment, whether it be Breakbeats/Kickdrums/trancey/ravey/techy/fast/slow…..the scene in my eyes is as diverse as its ever been, whatever others may think! Music is a way of life!
