Hi Everyone . I like to introduce myself to all music lovers: DJBEAR a.k.a DJBERKAND “Purveyor of deep, infectious dance grooves and a feel-good atmosphere.” That’s how Berkand describes himself as a DJ. Never afraid to go too deep, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy. Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of Rock N Roll music (Elvis Presley,The Beatles), European pop stars (Mina, Julio Iglesias, Adriano Celentano), synth-infused 80s music (Depeche Mode, Gary Numan)… all which became infused with his own love for both disco, jazz and soft rock music, Berkand ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced foot-shuffling house beat. A very active member of Deep House community, Berkand is no stranger to the ups-and-downs of a small-town music scene. Though he loves playing in nightclubs, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. As a producer, amateur pianist, and promoter, he has found plenty of ways to express himself musically. Have loads of vinyl to rip again, so am in the process of purchasing some 1210's. I have used Pioneer CDJ's (Mk3) for the past 20 months or so and am just really buying loads of vinyl from the early nineties at the moment, so hang on in there for some great, new (old) mixes.

Started collecting vinyl in the mid 80s, before getting into the Acid House music scene a little later in the same decade. Attended the Blackburn Parties, and many, many clubs around the North and North West of England at the time, and over the years I have been fortunate enough to have played at a number of different venues around the North West, playing at events alongside DJs such as Dave Charnley (Hacketts), John Jepson (Blackburn Parties, Zone), Matt Bell (Zone, Empire, Angels), Paul Walker (Empire), Paul Taylor (Empire, Angels, Retro) and Revenge Legends Welly & Greenbins to name but a few. I still play out from time to time at various select old-skool events. Hope you enjoy the mixes, please feel free to share and leave me some comments and feedback.
