I first started djing around about 12 years ago when i was 17. It was by chance i knew a dj in a bar and one week he asked me if i could do his set for him as he couldnt make it and gave me a brief lesson on what to do and from there i was hooked. I started getting sets playing hip hop and garage in Doncaster and sheffield and then discovered speed garage in 2001 and then started playing that. During that time myself and 2 others started a label called Gridlockd Records which became one of the biggest labels in the scene in a very short time as we were the only label making original tracks. Fast forward 12 years and in that time i played the first bassline set on bbc 1xtra, put together a compilation for ministry of sound (Maximum bass 2007) And had tracks signed to mos and all around the world (Universal). I decided in 2008 that i wasnt gonna pidgeonhole myself to one genre and went self employed as a dj and tutor. Around that time i got my own show on local legal radio station sine fm and my weekend vibes show did so well they moved me from 2-3 sat afternoon to 6-8 saturday night the show before dj legend graeme park. Nowadays i do a show called the history of Dance music on sine fm 102.6fm in Doncaster or www.sinefm.com worldwide every tuesday evening 8pm-10pm.

Currently using computer software and planning to upgrade soon. Soulful House is my first Love, now South African House music is just on another level, Deep House is also up there on my list. I also love mixing pure Kwaito music. Have just recently started venturing into other House genres that I find interesting. Born and bred in the old RS of A, former Transkei which is now the Eastern Cape. Spent all my life there until 2001 when I had to move to Cape Town in search of employment. Moved to Gauteng 2002 where I'm currently residing. You can visit my website (www.djkhozhozho.com) orblogspot for my mixes(http://djkhozhozho.blogspot.com) The music bug hit me while I was still very young and my greatest influences were my uncles. At the time I was into Michael Jackson, New Edition and Bob Marley. As I matured the influence changed and I got into Luther Vandross, Roberta Flack, Diana Ross and any love song I could get my hands on. The love of house started when I heard Heavy Dee Crewcompilation album 45 BPM 1 and DJ Fresh. Those wereone of my biggest influences.

After saving up money from my Saturday job, I bought my first set of decks, swapped CDs for vinyl and built up a Hip-Hop collection consisting of artists such as De La Soul, B.I.G. Snoop & Dre, and KRS-1. However, after the launch of Norwichs first ever pirate station Flight 100FM, I was fascinated by the homegrown sounds of Jungle and Garage and started hooking up with promoters on the local scene. This resulted in a couple of weekly UKG residencies at underground clubs such as Fat Paulys and Mojos. After moving to London in 2000, I started promoting and playing at various parties on the university circuit, including Kings, UCL, Imperial and Westminster, playing UKG, as well as Jungle, Dancehall, R&B and Funky House. Since then, highlights have included playing at the Ministry of Sound, raising money for charity with my Drum n Bass promotion, Elevate at Kings College, playing alongside MC Det, Eksman and Shabba D, a 2 year residency at The Marketplace, and playing at the well established Traffic at the Rhythm Factory with the Sub-Red collective on New Years Eve. Am currently a resident for the breaks night The Vinyl Touch at the Rhythm Factory and recently hosted their room at Moondance at SE1 this year. Venues include: (London) SE1, Gramaphone, Ministry of Sound, Club Aquarium, 93 Feet East, Rhythm Factory, Propaganda (Trap), Club Pop, Meet Bar, Push Bar, Yatch Club, Bar Revolution, Marketplace, Annexo Bar (Turnmills), Tutus (Kings), Area51 , Dragon Bar (Wesminster), DBs (Imperial), Windeyer (UCL) (Norwich) Mojos, Fat Paulys, Kafe Da, Concept (Optic), Hys Performed Alongside: Nicky Blackmarket, Ray Keith, DJ ;Hype, Bryan Gee, Artful Dodger, Jameson, Scratch Perverts, DJ ;Blakey, Dr S Gachet, EZ ;Rollers, Adam F, Shut Up and Dance,
Sugarhill Gang, Rakim, KRS1, De La Soul, Snoop, Biggie, Dre, Nas, Wu-Tang, EPMD, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, Vybes Cartel, Elephant Man, Sizzla, Red Rat, Andy C, EZ, Hype, DJ Zinc, Marky, Def Tex, Friction, DJ Dimension, MC VIP, Lyric T, Ron and SL, Randall, Mickey Finn, 5-0, Eksman, Riko, Ragga Twins, Navigator, Stevie Hyper D, MC Moose, Elevate Crew, CKP, MC Creed, Ray Hurley, Mike Ryff Cutt Lloyd, Lex and G, Heartless Crew, Blak Twang, Rodney P, Kano, Wiley, MR Wong, Dizzie, Stevie Wonder, Stylistics, Marvin Gaye, Al Green....
