AREA 6 IS CLOSING FOR GOOD!!! The home of Hard Dance in Auckland Area 6 is closing down for good due to the lease being unavailable to renew. So what does that mean.....it means we are going to give our beloved home away from home the send off it truly deserves. Next Saturday the 10th September the Hard Dance scene is coming together to relive our fondest memories and say our final farewells to Jojo and the Area 6 crew. All of your favourite Hard Dance DJ’s will be there representing the Harder Styles that have been featured there for so many years. So come down and join us at Area 6 next Saturday, 10th October for a night we promise you will never forget

Hi all, My real name is Dean Rooker and I am from sunny Wolverhampton! My DJ name is Deanossa, this originates from back in the day when my friend and I used to practice on the decks. It seemed to just pop out of my mates (Phil Turner - aka DJ Burner) mouth one day and its stuck ever since. So there you go, that is how Deanossa was born! I love hard house and hard trance, I have done since my early teens. I used to go clubbing galore at some top clubs around the country and go to some amazing events such as Mezzanine May Day Ball, Gatecrasher Summer Sound Sytem and many Christmas and New Year events. I was and still am a follower of Tidy Trax, I love their stuff and to honest I take a lot of insipration from them. I first started out with a pair of Limit Decks and a cheap but solid Numark Mixer, I practiced for hours on end, for months before things started to finally click, however I was held back by my poor decks that used to be almost impossible to beat match despite being direct drive. I finally moved up the ladder to a second hand pair of vestax which were a great step up. My favourites though without a shadow of a doubt, were DJ Burner's Technics 1210's and his Kaos Pad setup. We had some wicked times! Currently I am using new technologies to mix these days and one of the main reasons for this is space. I use MP3's or my preferred choice of WAV files and a Numark NS6 USB Controller which utilises Serato Itch 2. One word to sum up my feelings for my current setup - Awesome! Well this is me, and that is my short story, Enjoy the music, Share the music, Dance hard to the music and please dont forget to pass my name on - DEANOSSA! I am very interested in doing any DJ works in Clubs or Parties and I am also extremely interested in learning how to produce my own intro and would then like to step up and produce my own tracks. Luke Cabrol- Hard Dance/Hardcore DJ and promoter of MNTHRD Productions. Luke Cabrol born Aldershot, Surrey, England 9/12/87. Currently living in Auckland New Zealand. Lukes passion for the harder styles of music started at the age of 16 when living in England, religiously following the UK Hardcore scene until moving to Auckland New Zealand. It wasnt long untill he found himself working at 'SPACE BAR' (then Aucklands main hard dance club). From here he decided to start 'MNTHRD Productions'. MNTHRD Productions have done events like MNTHRD, Still MNTHRD and the most recent event so far being 'Meow gets MNTHRD' with MARK EG. In 2010 Luke took his place behind the decks. Using his influence from the UK rave scene luke has brought a different style to the Auckland hard dance scene. His sets are full of the unexpected. Luke puts a lot of effort into technical mixes and is not afraid to take a risk in his sets experimenting with new sounds. This along with an ability to make the crowd feel his passion for the music are the reasons that in his very short time as a DJ he has played gigs such as..Snow Rave Queenstown edition, Hard Kandi, Meltdown, Meow gets MNTHRD, Detour, Crank for Christchurch, BPM
