I grew up listening to be-bop and freestyle jazz, my home resonated to the sound of music on the loose, free of inhibition. The expolsion of music in the sixties changed my view of all things. I knew at that time that, if I was listening to a Bob Dylan protest song at home in my bedroom, or at the local club, I was connected with millions of people across the planet. In the global hearts of young people a change was taking place, music was the messenger, it still is. I still play out, spinning deep and deep tech house, soulful and funky house grooves, northern and southern soul, reggae roots and lovers and from time to time freestyle jazz. I founded Whitby Underground Collective in 2000, we promote, perform, manage and nurture music and its creation.
