A Blast From The Past : A Journey Through Timeless Funk, Soul, Boogie & Beyond If you're craving music that grooves hard, oozes style, and makes no apologies for its rhythm, welcome to The Groove Archive — a carefully curated journey through late '70s to early '90s funk, R&B, boogie, disco, and synth-laced pop. This isn’t just a playlist — it’s a time capsule of bold production, velvet vocals, fat basslines, and unforgettable hooks. Across multiple sets, you’ll find classics, dancefloor sleepers, extended 12" mixes, and songs you forgot you knew by heart. ... 🎧 How to Use These Sets For DJs: You’ll find dozens of blendable cuts, 12” versions, and crate classics. For casual listeners: Let it ride in the background and feel the energy shift across decades. For heads: You’ll appreciate the sequencing, transitions, and lesser-known edits.

bought my 1st set of decks in 92 ... Sound Lab belt drives ... good huh? lol but i, and others learnt how to mix on them and were better for having done so as other DJ's, who only ever played on technics couldn't play on anything else lol i love oldskool ... 92 is probz my fav year though i love to play 93/96 funky house Though i much prefer playing on the 1210's, i have embraced technology and will happily play on any media (CD's, USB's, Midi Controller or even just stand-alone VDJ) you can catch me playing online on alternate Sunday's on OSKP Radio from 4-5pm (UK time) www.oskp-radio.com you can also see videos of my shows on my FB page here https://www.facebook.com/tonydjtstanding main FB profile https://www.facebook.com/DJTonyStanding My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/DJTonyStanding?feature=plcp

Music has been a place of inner peace and I hope you enjoy my sharing of it! Born and Raised in NYC and now in the ATL. I have been mixing since I was 14 years old. As a young fella I can remember watching DJ Starski, Grandmaster Flash, Kool Herc, DJ The Red Alert to name a few hooking their equipment to the lamp poles in the parks in the South Bronx and Harlem it was on. The MCs were hyping or moving the crowd for the Deejays. When I moved from the Bronx to Queens, I joined the Gemini Crew and I was DJ Johnny Quick on the 1 and 2 with the cross fader. My Dad owned a night club in Brooklyn, so music was everywhere. As I got older and started going to the club scene in NYC there was one DJ that was such a technician and I often called him a Scientist the Legendary DJ Larry Levan famous for the Paradise Garage. He told a story when he mixed -- depending on current events, highs and lows in the City. As a DJ we must feel the mode and pulse on the crowd and provide them with a theme...
