Pair of Pioneer CDJ 350, DJM 350 Mixer and M-Audio BX5 Studio Monitors bag 1 - Deep Soulful/Tech/Afro House bag 2 - Hip Hop, RnB, Dancehall, UK Funky, Kwaito Born and bred in Bloemfontein, South Africa, currently living in the UK. Developed my passion for house music in the late 90's when the genre started gaining momentum in South Africa. It was through the influence of some of South Africa's pioneers of House Music, namely, DJ Christos, Vinny Da Vinci, DJ Fresh, Glen Lewis, DJ Khabzela, Oskido and DJ Monde, to mention just a few. While House Music remains my main music of choice, I have also dabbled with a variety of urban genres, incl. Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall and UK Funky. It was through Urban music where I had the opportunity to DJ at some of the South Coast's popular nightclubs. I currently run a series of mixtapes, namely, South Africa Deep series, Stebo Goes Deep series and the seasonal Soulful and Jazzy House series. I also host a weekly show on Deeplomatikk Radio on Wednesdays 10pm - midnight. Welcome on board and hope you will enjoy this deep musical journey with me. Music has been a place of inner peace and I hope you enjoy my sharing of it! Born and Raised in NYC and now in the ATL. I have been mixing since I was 14 years old. As a young fella I can remember watching DJ Starski, Grandmaster Flash, Kool Herc, DJ The Red Alert to name a few hooking their equipment to the lamp poles in the parks in the South Bronx and Harlem it was on. The MCs were hyping or moving the crowd for the Deejays. When I moved from the Bronx to Queens, I joined the Gemini Crew and I was DJ Johnny Quick on the 1 and 2 with the cross fader. My Dad owned a night club in Brooklyn, so music was everywhere. As I got older and started going to the club scene in NYC there was one DJ that was such a technician and I often called him a Scientist the Legendary DJ Larry Levan famous for the Paradise Garage. He told a story when he mixed -- depending on current events, highs and lows in the City. As a DJ we must feel the mode and pulse on the crowd and provide them with a theme...

As a young lad fresh out of school with no idea of how the big wide world spins I was fortunate for my first job to be in a record shop in Sunderland called Volume records. It was the mid 80's so it was mainly the electronic 80's sound that was around with the main RnB singers like Luther and Alexander O'Neal leading the way for soul. I however opted for the electronic 80's sound but fell in love with Soul & RnB in the 90's but not before the early days of RAVE. Living in the coal mining area of the north east there was only one popular sound in the 90's and that was Hardcore...I could not stand the stuff and still can't to this day. So I was alone with my music and over time had a massive collection of soulful and mellow 90's tracks (The Beloved, Mantronix etc) so decided to invest in a couple of belt drive turntables. It took me years to get used to them and then the Pioneer CDJ 500's landed...I was reborn I loved them, my music collecting and fascination went into overdrive, I used to eat, sleep and drink house music, while all my mates were off to the hardcore raves I would look around and find nothing. Then "THE SHINDIG" opened it doors in 1992 and world renowned DJ's were on my door step and the best time of my life had begun. This created memories and I made friends for life all thanks to house music. While all this was going on I continued to polish my mixing and tune my style by playing in small bars and venues across the North of England which eventually led me to a regular slot on Pressure radio, so I would end by saying.... We are only on the earth for a short while so why not try and make you mark on it. I would like to think I have helped educate many people on the style and vibe of soulful deep house through my mixes and would like to keep that side of house going as long as possible. It feels and looks like it is one of the main genres of house that is really struggling for the past few years and it is mainly the mature heads that are loyal to this timeless art form of music; however I'm sure the longevity of the music we love will help keep it from fading totally and with the likes of VBW, Southport & Suncebeat championing it there are years of life left in it....and after all its ..MATURE MUSIC FOR MATURE EARS.

The Lovezone’s debut was in 2001, along with Canada’s first urban music radio station, FLOW93.5FM. It was there that listeners could tune in late weeknights to hear Geena Lee deliver a ‘quiet storm’ of slow jams interwoven with her Poems of Passion. The show was a top-ratings earner and made an indelible mark on Canadian radio history. The Lovezone was revived in Taiwan while Geena was at ICRT FM from 2006-2008. Shortly after her return to Toronto, Geena resurrected The Lovezone online, with the same vision: to bring love and enlightenment to the hearts that dare to hope.

Goya MusicMan, a passionate DJ, started his music journey in 1999 at just 16 years old. What began as a hobby turned into a career spanning over two decades. By 2008, he was already performing as a semi-professional DJ. He built his reputation playing at clubs like Platinum Lounge (2008-2009), Café del Khuze (2010-2012), and Dukes Grill Lounge (2011-2015). From 2016 to 2019, he became a freelancer, touring with King Maestro in various cities across South Africa. Between 2019 and 2021, he took a break from club gigs to study political science but continued making mixtapes for his podcast, The Goya MusicMan Show. In 2022, he helped create music event concepts for The Sauce Lifestyle Café in Polokwane, including the successful PLK Plastic Affair, which ran until 2024 and featured international DJs. In 2022, he was hired by Seventh House Ltd. to produce a jazz mix for Eddie Harris. Today, he runs Goya Music SA, an aspiring record label, and continues to DJ, create mixtapes, and train as a music producer under Victor Duba at Lepatata Records. His journey is all about passion, growth, and pushing boundaries in music.

ATTENTION! Please be aware I no longer post mixes on house-mixes. If you have happened to have recently discovered me or listened to me before, you can find me still posting mixes on soundcloud & mixcloud. Been spinning since 88 and after a 10yr absence I returned a few years back to start mixing again. Before my "retirement", I played at a number of clubs and had residencies at the "infamous" Legends in Old Burlington St and at the Emporium in Soho. I currently mix for fun, but if the right opportunity presented itself Imight be interested in playing out again. My style of mixing is (I like to think) smooth, Itry to take the listener on a rhythmical adventure / journey. I particularly enjoy creating something between the mixes (when possible!) rather than simply going from deck to deck, so if you find yourself; a) loving the tunes, b) having an irresistable urge to dance and c) then realise you haven`t got a clue which tune you`re listening to, then I`m doing my job. My musical style usually falls into 3 categories; deep, soulful or nu disco but always funky. Would love to hear your comments on my mixes, don`t be shy. Click "Follow" and i will send you a notification (only) when i post a new mix. Don`t worry i do not notify as to what i am eating or watching on tv ala Facebook. FELLOW DJ`S PLEASE SEE BELOW; Please accept my apologies for not listening to everyone`s mixes, due to work and family commitments, the little free time I have is usually spent on seeking out new tunes or working on new mixes. I am aware I don`t listen to enough mixes and am trying to make more time for this. HOWEVER, when I do listen to a mix, I will provide an HONEST, THOUGHTFUL appraisal and whenrequested will offer constructive advice. Ido not"COPY & PASTE" feedback. I appreciate what DJ`s can put into a mix and the least I can do is take time to offer feedback befitting the quality of themix. The level of excellence of mixes from my fellow (undiscovered) dj`s never ceases to amaze or inspire me. Keep em comin.

Although not currently active on the DJ’ing circuit, He still keeps his head in the game by producing a mix every month, and posting it on his Soundcloud page. http://soundcloud.com/juneadan Although Phil has a very varied musical background, and can draw on many different styles for inspiration, he tends to go for a nice warm soulful set. I hope you enjoy listening to these mixes as much as he loves putting them together. You can also catch his mixes on http://www.ssradio.com http://www.phillynitesradio.com

House Is Life and i am addicted Been collecting music for 36 years and very proud of my vinyl collection from the 80's/90's. In my opinion the 80's was the best time for music and left me inspired by the great musicians and artists who left a legacy behind and music is still influenced by those heroes. Not afraid to experiment with sounds and always searching the globe for something a little different, and if recent releases don't cater for my needs, then there is always the archives. My Listening Genre's - House, Soulful House, Deep House, Afro House, Jazz House, Latin House, Tribal House, Lounge, Nu-Jazz, Soul, RNB, D&B, Garage, 2 Step. Music has always been my pastime and enjoyed the occasional gigs and live sets, but never really took my passion to the next level. Life is kinda hectic and faded out of the scene for a considerable time but now back to basics doing what i enjoy, pretty serious about my music and hope that i can spread some joy along the way...love peace and prosperity to all. I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music. Peace Love N Respect Kaleem.
