Started off as a young-un listening to the shit my old man was playing, Led-Zep, Rainbow, Wishbone Ash, Dylan, Creme, Yardbirds, until in 1979 i bought my first single, Pink Floyds "another brick in the wall"... 1979 was a good year, Floyd, Blondie, the Police, Rainbow, the Jam, Peter Gabriel to name a few that i remember. The 80's was, well, it was the 80's. Lots of electronic music. In the 90's i started to listen to punk, metal, industrial stuff, but really looking for sounds with a stomping rythym... I found Ministry, Front242, Frontline Assembly, Alien Sex Fiend, Sleeping Dogs Wake, Skinny Puppy, then in the early/mid 90's i started going to Raves. At first, just blinded by the whole scene (yeah, the drugs were pretty cool..!) i liked it all, but around '94ish, i found the sound i'd been searching for. Relentless, mechanical, dark, tribal. Yeah, I'd found Techno. And a wee dabble in Jungle, DnB, and funky House aside, I've been Techno ever since. Now, going back a bit, my involvement in music began in the late 80's. I experimented with guitars, drum machines and keyboards, played (badly) in a goth/punk band for a while. Then went on to mess about with sound modules and sequencers, mashin' out some industrial stuff. Then nothing til about '93, when i got into the same setup, this time making odd acid sounding stuff. Then i learned to play the dij. But all this time, i never learned to mix (as in mixing two records together). All that was to change with the internet, Mp3s, Virtual DJ and Hercules DJ products. Did my first mix back in early 2010 (it was shit and removed from soundcloud), but the bait was taken. I was hooked... I do most of my mixes in one take, going with it, riding the beats, and occasionally fuck things up a wee bit... But i don't crash, i sort it out and keep on a-riding... Hopefully I'm improving. If i'm not, well, who cares. I 've always made my music for me, but if you like it, then thats ok too...Techno, and that's that... also on soundcloud ( http://soundcloud.com/wrongjon ) and mixcloud ( http://www.mixcloud.com/wrongjon )

Listening to mix tapes from the likes of Neuro, Jooce, Danza, Zone and Fever, ultimately inspired me to become a DJ. I began buying records, even though I had no turntables, and began itchin’ it up on my mum’s hi-fi turntable…. Soon I was “king of the one deck mix” and thought it time to further my DJ skills. At 13 I grafted all summer holidays to get myself some decks… belt drives…Aaargh!!! As you can imagine my skills didn’t improve much until I got my first pair of Technics. Some practice later I began Djing at friends parties etc. In 1998 (aged 17) I entered an advertised competition for bedroom DJ's on a local dance radio station called Splash FM. Play-offs were held with a total of 30 DJ's in all. Each set played was to be an hour long live on radio! I came 1st and won the title of “Best Bedroom DJ in the Fylde Coast”, which soon led to a residency at Zone in 1999. A rapid interest was shown in my abilites and began playing in venues all over the UK. Soon I was to join forces with 3 of the North West's greatest DJ’s Andy Pendle, Rikkee & Steven Jay. We began to promote our own night called FOREPLAY (2000- present). Definately the most innovative Hard House & Trance night around, and proudly pioneers of the underground “bounce” scene which is prominent today. Aswell as promting our FOREPLAY nights around the UK we started to produce our own tunes (FOREPLAYERS - CHEMICAL CREW - CODE 3) which achieved recognition in the bounce scene with plays all over clubland. Currently we are working on all genres of dance music, bounce, hardhouse, hardcore, breaks & electro house + some random stuff! Im especially devoted to Rave Breaks at the moment - dj'ing & producing - can't get enough of it! Total oldskool roots combined with modern production - pianos - breakbeats & rave style vocals - awesome! Check out my stuff - AKA- WHY?TEE - WHO?DLUM RECORDINGS (myspace.com/whyteeproductions) ; THE PRODIGY - SL2 - 2 BAD MICE - SLY T & OLLIE J - DJ SS - GROOVERIDER - ACEN - THE TIME FREQUENCY - Q-TEX - CARL COX - TOM WILSON - ULTRA SONIC - MOBY - LIQUID - CUBIC 22 - BASS RATE - DREAM FREQUENCY - RAMOS - SUPREME - SUNSET RAGIME - JOHN J - MATT BELL - CHRIS BAKER - ANDY PENDLE - LIQUID CRYSTAL - SY-KICK - PETE MONSOON & GARY DREAMWURX - STEVE MURANO - FAR TOO LOUD - SLIPMATT - JUNKI MUNKI - RECKLESS - ROBBIE LONG - STORMTROOPER - SY - UNKNOWN - CUT & RUN - CRISP BISCUIT - MC IRIE - ROXANNE SHANTE - SALT N PEPA - NWA - ICE T - PLAN B - REBEL MC - YOUNG MC - DJ TRIX - Q-BERT - NENEH CHERRY
