Dedicated to the memory of a very special radio station that ceased it's operations in October 2001. ABC Power 104 was legendary in its specialist play-list/programming format and is remembered by most as "Waterford's Best Mix" and the 'Rhythm of the City". This mix was featured on Beat 102 103's 'Streetbeat'...a weekly dance show - hosted by Ray Colclough - which keeps the South East of Ireland well informed of all things house music-related within the industry and globally, streaming live in superb quality across the world wide web.
ABC Power 104's innovative approach to broadcasting can still be heard today as some of it's presenters (some very young at the time!) went on to forge very successful broadcasting careers spanning across some of Ireland's biggest broadcasters. It was necessary to mark this 10-year milestone as a tribute to all the young men & women who dedicated their time - free of charge - to bring the people of Waterford a radio service that they could truly be proud of. It was a simpler time when all that mattered was the 'music'. No bureaucracy, no hidden agenda and most importantly a passion & belief that ABC Power 104 could conquer the world...If we only had a transmitter powerful enough :)
Enjoy this mix that lasts for over two hours and takes you on a journey through the 90's, highlighting all the music of that decade that made a difference to a generation that still remember it "like it was yesterday".... If only we could have this time back again, if just for a short while!
Thanks for listening.
