Markie Gee is a pioneer of the New England music scene cutting his teeth doing local punk shows and college radio in the 1980’s. A staunch supporter of progressive and underground music, Gee has worn many hats in pursuit of bringing new music to wider audiences. Gee has made a name for himself as a program/music director, music journalist, club music director, mixshow host, party and rave promoter and booking agent. Gee has always been a maverick and steadfast supporter of upfront music and someone who knows how to program a dynamic set.
A notorious workaholic, Gee has built an army of allegiances with many of today’s hottest artists thru his work as an influential resident dj and record promoter in Boston, CT, Miami and NYC. Gee has promoted hundreds of events as well as written about and performed with a who’s who of dance music: Roger Sanchez, Moby, DJ Disciple, Dave Dresden, Robbie Rivera, Danny Tenaglia, Steve Mac, Stefano Noferini, Baggi Begovic, Tedd Patterson, Grant Nelson, Erick Morillo, Roland Clark, Lenny Fontana, Davidson Ospina, etc. Gee has networked thousands of hours and studied the styles of many legendary artists like Tony Humphries, Louie Vega, Kerri Chandler, Kris Bones, Pal Joey, Jeff Mills, Doc Martin and Green Velvet.
Gee has a podcast on Byron Burke’s House Music Channel and has recently done guest mixes for KCRB, SS Radio UK, Afroradio Italia and play.fm Gee hosts a weekly 2 hour show on Thursdays on WTC House Radio out of London called In The Gee Spot, which features new and unreleased soulful, progressive and electronic house tracks from all over the globe. Gee has been touring the world under the GaGa Records Luxembourg banner and is looking forward to dates in London, Miami and Toronto. Considered one of the most versatile underground djs on the circuit, Gee has successfully managed to develop a reputation as someone who can take your room on a deep, tribal, techy or progressive journey. Gee is looking to increase his UK and European presense thru his new association with Deep Red Records.
